Cinefestival is an annual film festival organized by the Guadalupe Cultural Arts Center in San Antonio, TX. This year’s installment featured Maracaná, a 2014 documentary by Sebastián Bednarik and Andrés Varela that revisits Uruguay’s fortuitously fruitful effort over Brazil in the 1950 World Cup final. Hosted by writer Enrique Lopetegui, the local debut satiates a growing passion for “more soccer” in the Alamo City. Just as the business side of the game picks up with the likes of the incoming San Antonio FC, so must the profile of it’s creative character. With that, P&O was there to take in a bit of the athletic arts.
